Toastmasters is an organisation started in the US for people to get together in groups and improve their presentations of speeches and talking in front of groups large and small. These presentations are both organised (for longer periods 5 to 10 minutes) and on the spot (1 to 2 minutes). Other objectives are to organise time-keeping and evaluate others on their presentations. Check out the linked website, join a group in your area or start your own group. We are looking to create Toastmasters WA and break away from District 73 as that district covers all of the southern part of Australia and we are a long way from the eastern states so lets have our own district.

While on study break I am job hunting and catching up with friends I don’t get a chance to through the semester. I have enjoyed some lovely meals with the odd glass of wine. I am going to see the latest Harry Potter movie at the end of July with a group as a fund raising outing: Event: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
"Raising Money for Orphans in Africa"
What: Fundraiser
Host: Rotaract Club of Perth
Start Time: Sunday, July 26 at 1:30pm
End Time: Sunday, July 26 at 4:30pm
Where: Greater Union Megaplex, Innaloo
Looking forward to the movie.
Update - Saw the movie loved it, though a bit sad when one of the main characters has to die.
Study is my great interest at the moment. I am two thirds of the way through my bachelor of commerce, majoring in accounting and finance. I have studied short courses over the years, although never completed any university studies, I am looking forward to finishing my present degree at the end of 2010.
One of my many interests is cooking. I love to cook and entertain other people although rarely get the opportunity these days as I have been busy with my studies for the last few years. Enjoy a variety of different types of cruisine both savoury and sweet. Keep posted for some of my favourite recipes. |
