You may often be asked to write a summary of an artivle that you have been set for a weekly reading.

How do you go about writing a summary?

Before I tell you how I do it I think it is useful for you to reflect on what you currently do…

so take out a piece of paper and write for 2 minutes (with out stopping) on:

• what should a summary include?
• how should I find the right ‘bits’ of information in the reading to put into my summary?
