Blogs are useful to send out large chunks of information. So here is some useful information on developing the skill of thinking critically.
Ask questions.
But what sorts of questions should I ask?
Well, that depends on the context and the perspective.
For example if you are an undergraduate student the questions that you want to ask may tend to focus on content: ‘what’ questions.
If you are a tutor you may want to focus on ‘why’ or ‘why not’ questions.
If students and tutors are having a tutorial discussion there may be a mismatch in expectations if this difference goes undiscovered and unexplored. Perhaps the first question in tutorials then could be about what does it mean to have a discussion? Why do we discuss? What do I hope for in a discussion?
